Departed from the Boat House at 5:00AM on the "Play'n Thru" and started fishing 500 feet around 7:30 at the tripple ledge, picked up and moved to 500 foot ledge, then worked our way to the South Ledge, but we didn't do well there until about 1:00 when we caught 3 nice dolphin and a nice blackfin tuna. We hooked up on multiple skipjacks and a little tunny which were fun on some of the lighter tackle. We didn't do much until we changed to some smaller baits. The ocean was very nice, it was one of those flat calm runs back in where the water was like a mirror reflecting the sky. Beautiful day on the water for a Tuesday work day! We heard some other folks did well out there, I think we should have worked our way off the S. Ledge numbers to find a better concentration of fish. We tried the standard blue and white islanders and Lehi Switches in black and purple, and plugs down on plainers, but no luck with that combination.
A nice weed line started forming around 1:00 PM just outside of the ledge.
