Disappointment at 6:00 PM today; the commissioning sea trial will not be until October 5. TEN DAYS FROM NOW! Cummins says I should run the boat between now and then and work out any bugs or issues.

We're awaiting the final sea trial and the commissioning by Cummins. They wanted us to retune the wheels to see 93% load at 2600 RPMs. We pulled the wheels last week and took them to Charleston to have them reduced by 1 inch or so and tuned. We ran the boat Sunday and it's running smoothly at 2200 rpms 28 kts, 73% load, 2600 rpms 31-32 kts, 93% load. A little less then the previous engines, but we're looking forward to fuel savings.

Props are 26" diameter x 30.582 and 30.656 Class 1 Pitch

I had some great friends compound and wax the boat today... it was a long day, but the boat looks great! Making good progress and I'll call tomorrow to schedule to prop's repitching, but I'm not sure if we want to do that before we confirm the raw water situation. I'll check with Cummins. UPDATE: Cummins thermostat probably Wednesday and another sea run to accumulate spec info before we haul and pull the props for tuning.

Thank you Tom and Kevin for helping me get the boat looking so good today! Also, thanks to Paul for his help on the pluming rework and many other things he's help me work on over the years. Rod worked on the trim at the wall, and door, and we sat the cabinets into place to determine their final position, as they are smaller and lighter than to old cabinets. The glass in the door is still the temporary plastic, we should install the glass tomorrow and work on interior trim. Check her out!

UPDATE: Over the weekend of Sept 1st I completed items 1,2,8, ordered new skylight hatch, hung new door for fitting, installed new handheld fire extinguishers, repaired connectors in bildge for trim tabs, ran new wires for blowers since the yard didn't identify them correctly, and other stuff not on the list. This past week we loaded the boat with fuel and water, calibrated the tanks, and we were running about 27 kts at 2200 rpms, 2600 rpms the load was 99%. Cummins wants us to repitch the props to higher rpms with less pitch, and about 92% load, and we're still waiting for the thermostat replacement as the port engine is running hotter than the port. I believe we indeed have a water restriction problem due to the number of 90's and 45's in the fiberglas water line build. Cummins hasn't told us yet if we're within specs regarding the water flow. We completed the reworking of the house fresh water plumbing and a new hose bibb in the bilge, and resecured the side panels in the cockpit, and I caulked them in today 9/8 . Kevin waxed for several hours today on the plastic and metal wax at the helm area. Rod and I refitted the door and he installed the door hardware.

This morning I got up early and did a major cleaning on the inside of the boat since it was raining big time. Then I met Rod at the house and we installed the aluminum trim on the underside of the floor decks and they turned out great! We used a closed cell foam on the underside of the decks last week by Southern Foam and then bent and installed the powdercoated aluminum sheets. Attached is a photo of the engine room with the decks in place.
