Fishing at Sailfish Marina and McCarther Park in North Palm Beach over the weekend. The family made a short trip to South Florida to experience some great weather, high 83, low 65. Laura made daily trips to Welliington National Horse show to watch her trainer and their family participate in the Hunters and Jumpers, while the rest of us fished off the docks, kayaked in the park, shopped at the fishing stores, enjoyed the sunsets and the get-a-way. AKR and the fish boy joined us at the last minute for some fun with the hound fish and monster jacks.

Fishing today off Savannah 18 miles south of South Beach at the nearshore Savannah Reef. Kevin heard there was a sheepshead bite near there, so that was our target. Rounded up some fidler crabs in the back yard along with some oysters for chum. Fishboy was an excellent chummer by smashing the oysters up!

Slow bite and small sheeps, but still a nice day on the ocean. Kevin the master sheeper caught 2 while I managed one as the clock ran out. PGP wasn't having his normal great fishing day, but he'll make up for it next time.

Arrived at the Playin Thru dock at 4:15 AM February 1, loaded boat ready for bear expecting 1 foot or less to 60 miles, and very cold......... Departed dock at 4:45. Seas were OK, but picked up around 11:00 to some 3 footers at 5 sec. Fished a couple of wrecks 60 miles out and got some great practice catching small, medium and large amber jack..... one right after another. They were even bending our jigs and breaking hooks. Especially when we broke out the electrics with heavy drag. Left the AJ's for another spot and immediately caught this nice ARS. Later in the day, went to the Savannah Snapper banks and AKR jigged up the largest Black Sea Bass I've ever seen. Over 3 lb's each; some sharks and the usual suspects. As we thought about a long run to R-6, TT apeared (top photo) edited by AKR.
