Had a great Thanksgiving with the Loyd visitors! Caught fish, ate oysters, had a party with Corn Hole in the backyard and enjoyed some beautiful weather.

Sunday, November 20, 2011. Found some great schools of reds on incoming low tide between Skull Creek Marina and Outdoor Resorts. Great spot. This redfish was the small released version. Had some big ones on and then had a problem with my power pole anchor switch while the fished moved on!

Trip to Chokoluskee Everglades !

Family and Friends trip October 27th through November 1st. Great fishing trip and we were lucky to have decent weather after a Hurricane threatened us and a cold front. Several days of good fishing for Red fish, and trout. We were in a feeding frenzy of lady fish and tarpon, caught snapper, reds, sheepshead, trout, catfish, lady fish, and even jacks!

Wow! Found a great spot for Bonnetheads on an outgoing tide. Fished with freshly cut poggies. Caught 7 in about an hour. Great fun on light tackle!

The shrimping from the dock has never been better. September 7th : 15 minutes of casting for shrimp, 2 hours to head them. This photo is my first cast (yep, only one) and was about 10 lbs of shrimp. I was pulling it up and thought it seemed much heavier than yesterday, yep it was !

Fishing Saturday was great. Good bite at stick cove and Bull flats about 2 to 3 hours before high tide. Only 1 keeper on the trout, 10 under the minimum and several redfish. Fishing is getting good.

Fishing and shrimping on a Thursday afternoon! Weather was really nice, so I just had to see if the shrimp were back in the hole after the passing of Irene. Yes is the answer, the red fishing was very good too!

Great time over a beautiful July 4th weekend. Weather couldn't have been better. 85 and breezes out of the south and southwest cooling our dock and fun on the water!

Saturday morning fishing. High tide seems to be more active. Nice Bonnet Head shark, bluefish, sea trout, and nice red fish with a very cool red spot on the dorsal fin. Not bad considering we only had a few shrimp. Learning a few new good spots to fish inshore!

Fishing with 12 today on the My Time. Yes... 1 cast and 400 poggies! Normal or Not? Ummm.. Fishing off Spanish Wells. Lots of sharks, several small rays and 2 large ones. NO COBIA. Great time with family. Beautiful day.

CAPTAIN AND CREW:
Fishing Easter and Heritage Weekend: Where are all the fish? Bites were had, but no fish in the box. Trey is 2 for 3 .... Out of 3 trips in the last month, he has been stopped by the SCDNR to be checked for fish, licenses, and safety gear, and a couple of weeks ago by the County Police for safety gear. Good thing I took out the beers I left in the cooler before this trip! Pretty soon the entire staff of BC and SCDNR will know them by name, so maybe no more stops?

Fishing on the new Down Time; Tom's new entry into smooth off-shore fishing. Sea Trial took us to R-8, The Deli and beyond. Water temps were around 69 to 70 degrees. The warm water was further south of our location. No great edges were found, but we had a great time catching reef donkeys, bonita, and dolphin. I'm not sure the last time we missed so many "fish-on" and bites, but it was that kind of day. Several dolphin were lost, and we had 2 or 3 wahoo bites with no catches. Andrew had one large fish on for a minute or so before it too was lost. Seemed like many hammerheads were swimming around out there too! Must have been a migration. Good time with good friends! Fishing for a couple of hours this afternoon with Tom; catching redfish and speckled trout. Hot Bite! Cast #1, then Cast #2.

Fishing January 29th 2011. Weather was warmer, and we went exploring for new fishing areas at low tide. Found some nice spots, then fished the usual as the water came up. Pepi fished later in the day and we caught 1 redfish. Friday afternoon (yesterday) we fished with PG and caught 2 reds, all were at or under 16 inches.

Check out the hand made casting platform from leftover folding chair parts. It works great and allowed me to spot some nice redfish last weekend on the flats and in the grass. It's great for seeing the fish! Complete with rod holders, but no beer holder yet.

Fishing for a few hours today with Cali. Started about an hour after high tide and fished the long cove flats, and the deep hole point off Calibogue Cay. Also fished the 2 pile creek and saw the same redfish in the same spot Paul and I saw a week or more ago, but this time I couldn't hook him and spooked up a school of about 25 fish in the same creek. Caught 2 large stags on the DOA shrimp, and one bent the hook, the 3rd one was on a large mud minnow 2 were long distance conservation releases, the last released after Cali said hello. Had some action today and spotted some fish which was a lot of fun!

Cold ride back into the dock!

Went fishing with PG and Cali yesterday afternoon during a slight "warming". Water temp however, at 42 degrees ! Wow.. that's cold, but the water was very clear while fishing the point of Buck Island and some smaller creeks trying to sight cast to schooling reds. We hunted for the reds, but couldn't find the schools; hopefully we'll figure out soon where they are and at what tides. I did spot a big red 10 feet off the bow from the platform, as he was laying in the grass and oysters. Hooked him up on a plastic DOA shrimp for 5 seconds before he left me behind. Cali went nuts, and that was the last of that fish to be seen. I caught a basket load of minnows in the trap on crushed oysters. PG fished with those, but no bites.
