Went Sunday (beautiful sunrise on the water) with Paul, Andrew, Kevin, and Leslie. Left dock late around 6:30 AM and started fishing inside Eagles Nest looking for the HMS Blue Fin Tuna where we saw alot of birds working the water, nothing there... worked the Eagles Nest with lots of birds sitting on the water, and the ledge to the Ross and further with not much seen except a sargasso weed line on the way to the Betsy Ross while pulling a big spread! Decided to bottom fish and put dinner in the cooler with nice 12"+ BSB and caught and released a 35 lb drum (AGAIN!). It was a beautiful day on the water.. slick! No whale sightings. A day of multiple BIG sunfish sunning near the boat, and loons stealing our bsb releases. Awaiting photos from PGP to post!
We were hoping the BFT might be here now as they slaughtered them yesterday off NC, and some thought this cold front would have pushed them to Hilton Head. Many boats were looking the last two days. It would have been great to have the opportunity to catch these bruisers only 15 miles off the beach.
Back at the dock cleaning fish by 3:00..... crew was great on the cleanup, only to have a 100 birds land on the boat this afternoon and make one big MESS!
